Saturn April 11th nice seeing.

Hi All,

Imaged Saturn last night in quite reasonable seeing with the intention of capturing the long lived dark spot as per the projected position from my drift chart.

Have measured the dark spot to be at L3 149.1 Lat +45.5 there is also a prominent bright spot leading the dark spot at L3 136.1 Lat +49

I am off down to Adelaide for surgery to have the wires that have been holding my wrist together removed, hope the grafted ligament has been successful.

I would have been cheesed right off if I missed good seeing but it looks like it will be less than great until I return.

Thanks for looking.

Regards
Trevor

Super images Trevor so sharp and smooth. The red channel showing off the cloud detail especially more so than IR?

Wishing you well with the op!

Thanks very much Stuart, have just added another image thanks to some inspiration from Dave Tyler.

Thats very interesting especially flicking from IR to Red seeing the difference and dark spots in the IR compared with the bright band equivalent of the red. The red shows such a strong storm remanent still in this better seeing. You could drive a truck through that Encke div. Hope your graft has sprouted.

John.

Thanks very much John, it certainly is very interesting, as you say, to blink between the R & IR data, it provides such a different perspective.

Thanks very much Bird, heading off in the morning, must admit to being somewhat apprehensive about it.
