A narrowband Eta Carinae

I felt I should justify purchasing a NII filter so this is a narrowband shot with Red=NII, Green=Ha and Blue=OIII. Did try other combinations but this seemed to look the best.

Cheers

Steve

That's a really great picture Steve. A wealth of details to dig out. I had a play with the JPEG in Startools here.
What system was this captured with?

Thanks Marc. 31.75cm RC and STL6303 camera. All in the image caption. Your version is possibly a little sharper but it's hard to say.

Losmandy HGM200. Not made any more. Somewhat beefier than the Titan.

Funny you should say that John. I'm in the process of buying Don Goldman's 14.5" RCOS.

Thanks Mike. I'm sure Marcus will make better use of his. Sometimes I think I should be headed for getting another mount too.

Oh how funny. I've been giving that scope a lookover for months. I too need something bigger in Coonabarabran, but there are sooooooo many choices in big instruments these days.

Yeah I must admit I'm surprised someone else didn't snap it up as I thought it was a bargain even adding on the cost of getting it to Australia. Perhaps people were put off by the recent troubles RCOS have been having.
