It was a good show worth putting up with the exorbitant amount of adds to watch it.
Cheers

Luckily someone pointed out to me that it is available on YouTube ... with adverts removed .... it was much more pleasant watching it there. I usually can't stand 7, 9 or 10 for the adds. I didn't think to post here regarding the youtube version sorry

Hi Roger,

Nobody likes ads, at least nobody I know, however, we wouldn't have any televised programs without someone paying for it. Ads are what bring us interesting shows. Where else would the revenue come from? Yes, I hear you say "Pay TV', but even they have ads. Ads are even starting to creep in on You Tube. It will only get worse as they try to make more money.

Only way we can escape them is to switch to channel two, for now, or switch off. I am watching more on the net now too, for this reason.

Cheers Peter

Contrary to the TV surveys 7two has most of the best programs so naturally it will get the most ads.

Funny thing though I fill in a lot of surveys that ask about various products and advertisers and I can never seem to remember what they were without being prompted.

When TV started 1 hour shows were generally 50 mins long to allow the ads. But these days I get the impression that the 1 hour shows are closer to 40 mins giving much more time for the ads. You should see some of the garbage that the ABC uses to fill in Ad space. It is worse than the Ads!

As for Pay TV. That is good for live sport but repeats of old program series can be had cheaper than pay TV by buying the series on DVD and watching at your liesure (and no ads)

My digital recorder has a 30sec skip button. It's brilliant! I read somewhere that the tv industry tried to have the skip function removed.
If I want to watch the tv in real time I use the mute button during the ads!

Peter you don't need to lecture me on why we have adverts, of course i know that.

There is a balance. SBS has that balance right and I enjoy watching programs live on SBS if I time it right.

In reality these days I watch almost zero 7, 9 or 10 partly because their advert placement is so irritating and partly because 80% of what I watch is via iView or SBS on Demand because it's when I want it. I have no need for 7, 9 or 10 or the shows they publish. I'm quite sure a doco would have been on SBS at some stage.

My apologies Roger, I didn't mean to come across that way. I also agree that SBS has the mix right, just wish the other stations would do the same.

Cheers Peter
