Nine hours of night, plus nightscapes.

Hi,

After imaging madly on comet Lemmon and panstarrs, it was time for a rest and try something different.
Seeing some of the magnificent night scapes, thought I'd give this a try.

All the images and video was taken in moonlight, for the first few hours on the video.

The video was actually taken to try and catch the recent aurora, but I was too late by one night, clouded out on the previous. The camera was setup to take 30 sec exp at iso 3200, every two minutes. I finally worked out how to reduce the running time of the video, so that 30 sec run time is nine hours of night.

Here's the link.

The night scape images with moonlight, were taken to include the tree shadows, thought it just made them a little different. The sunset shot should probably go in terrestrial section.

Equipment

Canon 1100D 18 to 55 zoom at f/4, fixed tripod.

Cheers,

Justin.

Good work Justin. Seeing the sky rotate around the south celestial pole is a great setup for time lapses.

Greg.
