Money for Photo

G'day All,

We got a call here at the planetarium the other day from an advertising mob who are doing an ad for Tourism Queensland.

They phoned us because they are searching for a wide field image of the Southern skies. They said that they were quite happy to pay for any suitable photograph.

We don't have any such images here, nor do we have the ability to take such an image so I thought I'd throw the offer out to IIS.

If your interested then send me a private message and I'll send you the email address and you can then deal with these people yourself.

Please Note: (this is to cover my backside ) Neither I nor the planetarium will accept any responsibilty for any subsequent dealings you have with the advertising firm in question after I have given you their email address.

Peter.

Wow, i'm quite sure there's many capable photographers here.. Rocket Boy, Octane and others have already done some magnificent shots.

For a tourism brochure they probably don't want a huge deep starfield though, something showing the southern cross, pointers etc I'd imagine.

Do they want any foreground elements? (ground/beach etc)?

I'm quite sure there are heaps of people here who will be able to provide a suitable image, in fact one IIS member has already asked for the details.

You're right Mike, when you say they don't want a huge *deep* field but I got the impression they were more after a wide field shot. So more than just Crux. As for foreground elements, methinks they will do a bit of jiggery pokery and add thier own, but that's just a guess on my behalf.
