planetary nebs

hello members can anybody tell me the best way to image and stack planetary nebs>
they all seem to look much better as individual frames than stacked.
how can you keep the cores integrity, less exposure perhaps though i dont know
any tips please as i seem to have descent data on a few of the small bright ones like ghost of jupiter and the saturn
thanks in advance
because they are in raw and single lights i dont know how to post a screen grab
