March Photo Challenge - Entries (Post them here)

The topic this month is: "Rain."

This thread is only for posting your entry and any comments you'd like to make about your own photo.
If you would like to comment on other entries please use the comments thread.
As usual, one entry per person and the image must be your own work.
Normal forum rules and image size applies.

The image doesn't necessarily have to have been taken this month but we do encourage you to go out and enjoy the challenge.
The winner of the poll, which will be run at the end of the month, will get to choose next month's topic and have their photo posted in our "Photo Challenge Hall of Fame" thread.

Good luck and good shooting.

My entry was an easier one as we have had plenty of subject material I think this was the best one.

This is an old shot as a placeholder. If I can get a new shot during the month I'll replace it.

Storm off the coast of Wybung Head. Technically it virga, but when you're in amongst it, its rain.

Everyone from Brisbane should be entering this month after all the rain recently! Here's my entry: a raindrop on grass.

Cheers,
Stephen

One of many visits to Mnt Tamborine, SEQld Hinterland, after Comets
There was another few captures of rain to the west during sunset, but thought this more appropriate as was Kinda, '1st light' for the Goldcoast after many weeks of, yeah,

Here is my entry for this month. On Saturday during the Formula 1 qualifying session it started to rain! The session was eventually postponed until 11am Sunday morning.

Here is a panorama I took of where I was seated and the wet track in front.

I took this on Australia Day 2012. It summed up the weather we were having in Sydney at the time...

Haven't entered for a while so thought I'd better have a go this month.

Rainy Day in the Park...

Launcestons Princes Square. (was Originally a clay-pit where convicts made bricks for the construction of nearby St Johns Church.) I've always thought this park to be a little creepy.

Should have realised what was to come after a stinking hot day today. Best evening storm to blow over us in a long while. Missed all the best strikes but managed to jag this one through the bedroom window. Just making up the numbers

A Grey Day

Rain
In three forms.

Rain Clouds over Wollomombi Falls, and yes, it is raining when I took this picture.

I took this earlier this month (with this month's photo challenge in mind) on the way back from an Astro-camping week at Chaffey Dam. After leaving Nundle, we travelled to Armidale, and down the spectacular Waterfall Way to the Coast near Coffs Harbour.

Highly recommend the trip.

The photo jpeg was 5.3MB. Hope it doesn't lose too much in reduction to 147KB.

Thanks for looking

"Perfect Storm"
I walked into Lake Narran with my mate Steve one apparently fine day. We spent much longer than anticipated in there and were at risk of running out of daylight walking out. We saw this incredible anvil and thunder storm forming. We watched it develop as we walked out but we didn't have torches and were disciplined and kept walking. There came a point a few minutes before sunset when we were crossing this claypan. We decided the light was as good as it was going to get so we stopped and gave ourselves a 5 minute shutterfest.

I captured this pano then we continued our rapid march back to the car. We reached it just as twilight was ending. My 4wd was dark grey and we could barely see it as we approached. We then drove down to the sealed highway at Brewarrina staying ahead of the rainstorm before it would have washed us out. The rain hit minutes after we hit sealed road.

I've been waiting all month for it to rain. Only had a brief showing during the day but it was enough for this.
