Wow what an exciting round.

Congratulations to David (AstralTraveller), our winner this month with a beautiful shot of a Heron eating a yabby.

Thank you everyone for submitting and all taking part in the voting, I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did.

Well done also to Andrew (asto_south) and to Anne-Louise (earthlight), our runners-up.

David you get to pick this month's theme.

Thank you to everyone who voted. I thought I was up against excellent competition. Being a wannabe bird photographer I was impressed at the sharpness of Paddy's Plover, thought Tony's Cuckoo was a great find and understand just how difficult Robert's eagle was to capture.

I think part of the reason for the quality was the subject. It was something to which many people could contribute. With this in mind the next subject is "rain". At the moment this might attract a record number of entries . Sorry if I'm discriminating against our west coast members .

Congratulations David - a great photo! But it's not just the west that will have trouble with "rain" - we Victorians will have a bit of a struggle too alas!
