This is beginning to get up my nose!
I have three laptops running similar software and on the same wireless internet connection.
NEVER a problem with the two XP machines in accessing gmail but with the Win7 - I get "frozen" gmail screens every few minutes....
What the devil!!!!

Are you trying to access gmail through a web browser or an email client (such as outlook)?
Yeah, mine worked 100% of the time up until last week...maybe one of those "overnight updates" to Win7?????
Now it freezes at least three/ four times an hour....
I've had the same issues with gmail lately, under IE9 on WIN7, and IE8 on XP. I suspect Google is making changes quite often that aren't supported by IE versions.
I installed Chrome and it worked fine (funny that). After a few days I tried IE again and it was working fine on both machines. Google keep saying that IE will soon be an unsupported browser.
yes, I do still use IE......
Hmmm
It's not just today, but has been happening regularly for the last couple of weeks....
No, I'm not going to Chrome....
I much prefer Chrome too. It's crazy how they are up to version 25!
And all without any need to separately download and/or reinstall or even restart, since Version 1! Upgrades just happen smoothly and uneventfully in the background.
That was my opinion too Ken, almost like you're being blackmailed into it by Google shifting the goalposts! But, I gave in and went to Chrome yesterday. All the glitches that had been affecting my browsing in recent times disappeared. Faster, more convenient page too with the drop-down box favourites across the top. I like it.
What's with IE? I'm not a tekkie I'm afraid, but is IE defunct? (insert caveman smilie here).
I went to Chrome when I got my android phone. It makes it easier to use the same app on different platforms. Chrome will still crash, but then that is because I often have 50+ chrome sessions running, then have to kill the one that is hogging all the cpu - i.e. the facebook session.
