SSD in Raid 0 = WOW

Just did up a new machine running a pair of SSD drives in raid 0 (striped).
HDTune says Avg read speed is 1GB/sec with a .1ms seek time

To compare, the old sata disk in my PC Avg is 97MB/sec with 20ms seek time
Isn't that .097GB/sec, mine is 10 times slower.

That's going to be one quick machine

I had a pair of SSDs in a Raid 0 stripe for the past year, it is blindingly quick. It was setup for some processing that was very disk intensive and it sped things up by a factor of 20x for the task, which was amazing.

One died last month though, thankfully I had a backup.

Only problem with Raid 0 is that if one drive dies, you lose everything off all of the drives in the RAID config.
