Puppis and Vela

Here are two other shots I did on the same Friday night I shot the Rosette. This is right up ahead at the zenith now so it's a good time to shoot. All shots are again 10x5min with the QHY9. I did two panels around NGC2736 and a widefield around the Snoopy nebula NGC2467 that Steven shot at longer FL here. I did an extra panel in Vela but slew a little too far so it doesn't join.

Bigger pics here: NGC2736 & NGC2467

Thanks again for looking.

Very nice Marc....

I am loving the second one, especially the Lufthansa logo all by itself on the centre left of the shot....

[cue the sounds of the google image searches]

The details are amazing.

Cheers

Chris

Great images Marc - it's all coming together now! The NGC 2736 image is a mosaic of 2 panels with the Hyperstar at f/1.8, correct? Aren't you afraid that you will run out of sky if you keep this up?

Thanks Chris. Yeah it does little. I don't know why it's called the pencil. It looks fluffy to me.

Thanks David. The panels are not too bad. The snoopy one is definitely dewy. I didn't run any heat. Silly me. I'll never run out of sky. There's a fair way to go still to get this system up to scratch. Plus it's deep but the field is not that big so lot of panels to mosaic. I have to automate that somehow. That'll be my next project.
