Aussie caught on Everest

Theres an incredible survival story unfolding on Mt Everest involving an Australian climber. On the 25th Lincoln Hall summited via the N/east ridge{Tibet side} but experienced difficulties descending and become immobile at 8700m, 2 Sherpa guides with him where forced to descend with the evening coming after exhausting their oxygen supplies.Somehow Hall survived the night and was found by another team going up to the summit and given O2, then a huge rescue effort was dispatched to get him down for medical care at base camp.More info here if interested

Hall was a member of the successful 1984 first Australian ascent of Everest who forged a new route up the north face of the mountain.

That is an amazing story. I was listening to a contemporary of Lincoln Hall paying a tearful tribute to him yesterday afternoon on Radio National.
Another great story of survival.
Cheers
