Opera House, Sydney.

Fortunately the rain in Sydney has not been nowhere near as devastating as in the northern parts of Australia, however we are getting warnings of heavier rain and strong possible 100km/h winds tonight after midnight.

Once again I found myself killing time while I waited for my wife to finish her dancing lessons in Milsons Pt.

Wishing the Northerners all the best and I hope you and your families are safe and dry.

Best regards.
Carlos.

Wow Carlos, that's a stunner. Love the effect of the water on the spiked fence, and the halo around the Opera House! Thanks for sharing.

IMHO cropping the right 20% of the image out seems to add something intangible (just the way it opened on my screen first time must confess before resized, but thought would suggest).

Lovely shot. My screen did the same thing Rob, and I have to agree. Whilst it loses some of that fantastic railing, I think it adds more drama to the Opera House.

Whatever way you frame it Carlos, it's still a fantastic subject well captured!

Very nice Carlos. I like the way its framed. It looks HDRish, and works very well to my eye.

Good shot, Carlos! I like it the way it is. Losing the railing would, I think, detract from the composition

Thanks Rob I see what you mean and now I'm in two minds as I really like the fence, nevertheless happy to share a cropped version too ... I use to be indecisice but now I'm not sure lol

Thanks Jonathan I took a few other angles, one includes the brigde and the opera house from inside that fortified sandstone hut (still not sure what they we used for, canons?) I'll share them later on.

Thanks Rowland possibly because it was raining and that leaves a haze. IIS user 'Wavytone' suggested with another b/w I took a few weeks ago ( http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...d.php?t=101773 ) to lower the ISO which I have now and he's was spot on!

Camera settings were:
32mm
6.0 sec exp
f/4.5
ISO 100

Thanks Laurie I tend to agree with you too, its a good thing I can save the original and crop and uncrop as much as I like.

Very nicely framed B&W picture Carlos.

I find the eye follows the curved stione arch on the feft of the picture, then is lead into the picture by the horizontal parts of the railings, then finally the vertical pointed steel parts of the railings lead the eye to the Sydney Opera House.
