Going through some old data and doing some repro's. I imaged NGC 3603 earlier in 2012, and wanted to see if I could improve on my earlier result.
I've supplied the repro and original for comparison, I'm improving that's for sure.
A revisit is in order, now I have cooling for the camera and can do longer subs.
Equipment.
Telescope 8" f/4 astrograph.
HEQ Pro 5 mount - orion mini guider.
Camera canon 1100D at ISO 800
15 x 5 minute subs - 9 darks - 9 flats - 9 bias.
That's pretty good data on that faintish object Justin. For only a little over an hour, it looks great. Colour balance looks much better from the first.
Yep, definitely a big improvement! Much better colour balance and control, with some nice colour hues now evident in the nebula!
Thanks David!
I'm happy with my progess in colour balance now, just have to sort a few things out with the stars and gradients.

Yes, I was surpised how it came out with the amount of data.
Nice work Justin. The colouring on the reprocessed image is pretty nice. Star colours look great and the two nebula have that slightly different shade of red. That could be enhanced a little but not too much.
Hi Justin, I am assuming the first one (on the left) is the latest version..? if so, then yes excellent colouring It is a great nebula pairing for sure.

I'm enjoying processing now and can't wait to get more images to work on. Still have a way to go on a few elements of processing, but I'm happy with my progess.

Yep one on the left, the one on the right was my first effort. Don't mind saying it was tricky for me to bring the nebula out of all the stars in this field.
