Are you a sticker freak?

I am. ANYTHING that is not a brand logo, I usually remove.

On telescopes, the damned "Do not look at sun" comes off instant I get it. I even will usually remove the silver data labels (because half the time they will desilver or lift eventually anyway!)

Stupid little triviality, but I know I am not alone.

Got an Orion rich field guide scope yesterday. First thing after cleaning up the botched paint job they did on it I did was remove the sun and data stickers

Yep I break into cars just to rip their rego stickers off! Can't help it :/

But seriously I hate it when after my car gets serviced the mechanic sticks the reminder for next service sticker on my windshield, I rip it off.

Same goes for airbag warnings etc...

My new car now tells me when it needs a service, so no more stickers on the windshield. Still had airbag warnings though.

Worse is when the mechanic puts one of their advertising stickers on the rear window or bumper. Goes in the trash instantly!

I have ONE sticker on my car (besides the rego), and that is a black "Mauser" banner logo dead centre on the rear window. You have to look HARD to see it.

And those annoying clear screen protectors... STRAIGHT OFF! My wife keeps them on even when they start air pocketing and coming off themselves. ARGH!

Even the rego-plate frames with the name of the dealership where you bought your car drives me nuts!

If they want to PAY ME for advertisement then sure I might keep it, but otherwise it comes OFF.

My wife wants to put some of our own website branding on our car, and that's already got me cringeing ... it'll say www.bettyshoe.com argghx2!

Fruit?

How do you go with stickers on fruit. Now that really peeves me....I've eaten one by mistake in a hunger frenzy.

Not usually.

I am a Virgo (yeah yeah), and we HATE sloppy work. The latest Orion arrival chapped my sensibilities BIG time.

May have to buff it to match the gleaming lustre of my Vixen's tube

When I bought my Ute there was a large sticker accross the rear window advertising the company which I didn't want on.

I asked them to take it off as I didn't like it there to which their reply was that it has a special glue on it so it can't come off, yeah sure I'm not that dumb.

My reply was that if that was the case then I would charge them for their advertising on my car and the rate was $1000 per year over the 10 years that I expected to keep the car, I would also expect the payment up front in the form of a discount of the price. If not then I would take my business to another dealer.

Guess what the sticker amazingly came off within minutes.

My 10" Goto Dob, which has a gorgeous black and white paint job, has just one very special sticker on it.
A black and gold Ulbrick tag.
My White and Gold ED80 has a sticker on the dew shield saying for people to keep their hands off my scope or I'll beat them to a pulp.
My first Dob, a bog standard GSO 10", I decorated with ink. Putting celtic bands around it, American Indian designs, etc etc It definitely did not look like every other dob on the field.
On the draw tube of all my scopes I mark the focus points of my various camera and barlow combos.
I don't own telescopes just to look at them and admire how pristine they look.
Telescopes are meant to be used and loved. Some wear and tear is to be expected on an object used for 8 hrs a day or more.
What matters the most is the care you take with the optics.

That's right Nettie, all personal taste. I don't like em, you do. No right or wrong.

I too mark my drawtubes, and also my dovetail bars for varying loads. I also mark my RA and DEC axis on the mount itself, seeing the Synta ones move despite how tight I make the little lock screws.

Just as I don't have tattoos for the same reason - it's not my thing. I don't judge those that do though (except my sister )
