Smile NGC2467 Open Cluster (w/ Nebulosity) :)

Hi Folks,

Another from the Atik picture factory, this baby just keeps churning em out.

I had to laugh on Stellarium as I was hopping around looking for something nice, this cluster showed as a galaxy indicator on the screen and I clicked on it, then realised it was actually described as a "Cluster associated with Nebulosity" . So I thought I would take a sub and wham! very pretty!

So, here is my take on this lovely cluster and nebulous area in Puppis. It looks a little different to the other images I have seen of this area on the web as I get in a LOT closer than most of the widefield shots out there. I think the focus could have been a bee's proverbial out....

Thanks for looking, any tips or critiques are welcome.

I like the colours you have brought out. Looking sweet for only an hour. Quick question, does the Atik have any downtime after the image has been taken ie for the image to save to the pc? Just wondering

The 314L+ is quoted at 1MB/sec so for 1392*1040 16 bit pixels that's about 3 secs to download.

Chris, I'm watching your Atik series images with interest as I am hoping to move from DSLR this year. Your images are looking quite nice.

Thanks for showing us!

Thanks Steve, yes, as Andrew points out, its about 2 secs on USB2 bus to receive each pic after capture.

Cheers Darrin, I am glad I could be of service . They certainly are a great little camera. Stay tuned for hopefully next weekend when I test out the camera on the Black Diamond ED80 for some wider field Orion and other Constellation shots....

Thanks for the comments guys.

Cheers

Chris
