Milky Way Crux region

Hi,
Inspired by some other far more impressive wide-fields I had to try my luck at it tonight.
EOS piggy'backed onto the C9.25
still tinkering with exposures times and ISOs when the clouds moved in...

Very good Frank.
Looks like you've got the colours nailed and a nice black background.
How did you focus? Did you use live preview?

Andrew,
thanks. Tried t use Live view but stars were so faint I just whacked the manual focussing on the objective at infinity and fired away...i was rushing because of clouds coming in just to see if I could do it at all!
Next time I work on the focus a bit more and try longer exposures at lower ISO. 12:51 Rocket Boy! Dont you ever sleep ?!
:]
cheers

No, no sleep for me, waste of time.....

If the stars are too dim to use liveofcus I usually turn to a brighter star and focus then leaving the focus as is, I go back to my subject.
I know what you mean when the clouds are racing against you.

Still you did a great job.

Cheers.

I did the same Frank...just go to the nearest bright star to where your imaging...focus then move to your target.
