I've never heard of this before.
Great pics, number 2 is my fav.
I wonder if it's safe for pilots flying nearby? Will it reflect and concentrate the suns light at them?

Nah Nettie - although truly parabolic (apparently) it's built to focus just a few short metres in front of the surface. To a plane it's no brighter than glass windows on adjacent buildings.

Someone's got to get a big secondary, some framing / scaffolding and a cherry picker to turn it into a big, fast reflector.

It will be a bit limited in its range of movement but at least it will be put to something useful.

At 10m you wouldn't need any secondary. Just a ladder (that guy's cherry-picker would do!) and a good widefield eyepiece. Head-wobble could be a problem 'though.

That is so dangerous, some baby in a pram or young kids, even adults look into that, and be blinded for life ! ! ! good for a quick free suntan tho : )
