Australia's Grand Canyon 32 image mosaic

I was driving past this area which does not look anything out of the ordinary from the road on my way back from a job site.

I thought I would take my lightweight but great little Fuji XE1 camera and do some photography.

I trekked 1.2km down a trail to this site to find one of the most spectacular lookouts I have ever seen in Australia.

Also in true Australian style there was noone else there! Gotta love that.

I took several mosaics and here are the first 2.

This is called The Wall and its at Pearces Pass off Bells Line of Road in NSW. To the left it actually is called the Grand Canyon.

Nic find & Nice area, Fuji can turn out some nice colours, X100 I has was a winner

Hi,

Lovely shots. I've been there and reckon it's one of the best spots in the Blue Mountains. It's popular with rock climbers.

Drive to the Pierce's Pass Rd, and turning in, you will see a carpark on your left. There is a longer foot track from there down to the Walls, visible on the satellite view, which is a moderate grade. If you instead drive down the road to the end, the Pierce's Pass carpark proper has a toilet block on the left. Behind this you will find a short flight of steps which begins the shorter track past Rigby Hill and to the Walls.

It is well worth a visit, but if you have children with you, keep them from running around as there are no fences and the cliff edge is sudden.

Yes I like the Fuji. Not as sharp as the D800E but nice and light and great colour rendition.

I find the Fuji renders a very pretty sky. Its one of the things I noticed about it.

Also I find both my Fuji and Nikon D800E both render the sky very very well which is an improvement over earlier DSLRs I have had which often overexposed the sky.

These next gen sensors reduce the need for neutral density filters etc.

Any Canyon Chasers should drop into Capertee Valley between Lithgow and Mudgee. Wider than the Grand Canyon and some amazing photographic opportunities.
