Funnel Web...

Finally got some scope-time and managed 2 hours of h-alpha last night...

Colour is in progess...but I'm happy with the H-alpha data.

Cropped, to keep this arachnid web friendly, but shown at 100%

Peter,

Very nice - a great sharp and very detailed image.

My sister lives in Bangor in Sydney and showed me a picture of a Funnel Web that my brother-in-law had fished out of their pool - still alive I might add!! Your image is a lot nicer - and a little less dangerous!!

Cheers,
Mario

Looking good Peter - very nicely done. Is that a 3nm Ha filter?

Cheers

Ta Steve, No, its a standard Baader 7nm. (I've been unable to source 65mm square 3nm)

Amazing detail Peter. I am still waiting for clear nights in which to acquire some data on this baby. I love the detail in the nebulosity that the extra focal length gives you, especially in the core.

The detail is exquisite for only a couple of hours worth of data. Well done!

I always have a chuckle when "only x-number" of hours exposure is mentioned...my six inch AP would have needed 8 hours to get the same flux down the pipe...hence I see it as a relative number

Thanks, actually the FL is quite short, just 1158mm. Optics are not too shabby though
