re dalek
Yes Justin,I do believe the robot from 'Lost in Space' is very expensive,I saw a
current affair type program, and there was one feature on this type of thing.
Somebody in Australia had one,and I think the price was around $15000.
So expensive door stop indeed!
Yes-Got a very keen son, wanting to use workshop, after seeing your pics.
I like how you have got the proportions right with the head of yours,I feel that is the most difficult part,I have seen a few repros, and thet did a good good.
but somehow the head just did not look quite right,
From what I have seen, yours looks like the best one,you certainly got the top of its head perfect. We look forward to seeing it complete, are you doing the gold colour?
cheers Chris

Well spotted Chris, yes the dome is one of the more difficult bits both to make & get right.
Deformed Daleks are known as 'Wokleks' often because the head resembles a wok.
As for colour scheme I'm going for the basic grey 'Genisis of the Daleks' type, as a kid that story was my introducion to the Daleks so I've always had a fondness for them...but in future if I get bored of it thought I might try a 'camo' scheme, never seen one done up in jungle greens.
Best of for your sons build
Justin

saw that episode last night. Probably a clever tactic of the new uber Daleks, to look colourful but deadlier
By the way, is the St John's Ambulance emblem on the Tardis a new addition, didn't notice it in the last series

I quite like the new Daleks on the block.
I suppose even would be rulers of the universe need a makeover now and then.

Ive been a Doctor fan since it first showed in Black and white when I was a kid.
Cant say I'm impressed with the new show yet.
The first installment showed promise, but last night was abysmal.
The whole universe and he's hanging round earth again.
Where are the new ideas?
where is the suspense? Oh hum, the doctor going to save the world again.
And where did they get a pommy factory that could retro-fit spitfires with alien tech in 15 minutes?
At this rate they will be bringing back those angel statues again. Errr, no wait, they wouldn't trivialize one of the best episodes of the earlier series would they?

So far I think episode 1 9/10, ep 2 8/10 and ep 3 with the new daleks and Winnie 6/10, visually strong episode but poor storyline IMO, I suspect it is a linking story for later in the series and will all make sense in time. The new daleks I don't mind, my kids love them. Hope the weeping angels episode doesn't follow a mathematical progression from the rankings above otherwise it will be 3/10

Yes, pretty much agree there .
The ending of that dalek episode was interesting and does lead to things to come.
Those weeping angels were really scary, so at least will be 7/10.
Hang in there new Doctor Who!!

saw the one with Winnie in it, and spitfires in space. All a bit corny I reckon. Wasn't particularly impressed with the Doctor, or his new assistant. Darleks looked too smooth and unrealistic - looked completely false.
I quite agree with some of your comments - lets go somewhere in the Universe - not on Earth, where no doubt they dont have to build so many new film sets

Agreed - last episode a bit weak and hard to believe, even for sci fi. Still, every song can't be a hit. I think the new doc and assistant have got plenty of potential.
I'll be the usual pathetic sci fi addict glued to the box (whenever I remember to watch at 7:30 on a sun night...!)

The last 2 episodes with the Weeping Angels have left me in no doubt that the Dr Who train is still on the track and heading to exciting new destinations. The promo for the vampires in Venice episode looks like they've recycled the set and clothes from the Shakespeare episode a couple of years ago, hopefully the story will be good
