Finally a good episode with nasty wee beasties that attack people at night and live in holes in the ground , some wormhole time travel (the the past), and an interesting plot.

Bit disappointed the ancient's intergalactic lifeboat didn't have nano-filtration on the water recycling / purification system and no one saw the biological contamination from the ice planet water coming though.

Hope for STU yet.

Ep9 is crap ....

Back to personal use of those comm stones (was most of the story in this case .... and nothing interesting happened ....

Oh they found a learning chair .... big whoop .... and the hd science guy says he has found a way of identifying where the robot gate builder ships planted gates.
And people being physically trained to the point that they are spewing (you even get to see this .... ) .... what the hell are the script writers thinking ....

None of this crap is the least bit interesting or in line with what we hoped we'd out of a new Stargate series..... nor does it add anything worthwhile. Too much like Battlestar Galactica (the rehash) .... that's crap too , and I gave it the flick very early into Series 1.

Totally agree Ian. If I wanted to see the failings and shortcomings of everyday humans, I just watch the news, read the papers or walk outside.. I don't expect it to also form part of my entertainment. How can anyone call this drivel entertainment?? In fact its so bad, it makes you wonder why the writers would ever believe the USA would send miserable idiots through a top secret stargate in the first place. Eipsiode 9 is the kind of episode you have as a gap filler in later seasons, not 9 episodes into the first season...can this show last a ssecond season?

Way it's going .... I doubt it'll see the end of the scheduled 20 episodes for S01 .

Here's what we can look foreward too ...

10. 1-10 110 4 Dec 09 Justice
11. 1-11 111 Space (1)
12. 1-12 112 Divided (2)
13. 1-13 113 Faith
14. 1-14 114 Human
15. 1-15 117 Lost
16. 1-16 115 Sabotage
17. 1-17 116 Pain
18. 1-18 118 Subversion
19. 1-19 119 Incursion (1)
20. 1-20 120 Incursion (2)

. I am wondering if I'll make the distance before I give it the flik , just like I did to Battlestar Galactica S01.

Just saw STU advertised on TV as "exciting programs coming soon" (on TEN ???) , just before I hit the off button the TV's remote , crud all on in the avos so not worth having the TV on.

In the new year I guess .... I don't think I'll be going out of my way to watch it on TV if there is something better on elsewhere or something better to do (ie go fishing for squid, prawns, crabs or jewfish at night), or set up the telescopes and camera for a session if it clear, moonless and still , or go dancing..

Or it will be moved to the early morning (off peak) time slot (after 1am) so only the die hards will watch it , with stacks of phone sex adverts, anti-limpness product adverts, and phone download adverts ....

I was pleased to see BOO HOO girl bite the dust, but am worried some miracle will happen and she will come back to life. It was good to see the pace pick up "a little" but fear it's still toooooo slow.
My wife likens the whole series to what Deep Space Nine did to StarTrek. Ds9 although it has it's followers, Very much changed the way in which StarTrek was viewed by it's audiences. I think it was regarded more of a Dark serries and the away missions were much fewer with a LOT more DRAMA. I'm an avid startrek fan and felt this way at first, however was eventually won over simply to fill in my TV time.
I was bitterly disappointed with this new series of stargate & still am regardless of the last episode. I will however keep watching as I'm saving up the old SG1 serries & Atlantis for Bluray...I'm all start treked out!!!! Years and Years of exsposure...There is simply nothing else in SC/Fi worth watching...well for me that is. I not into fantasy...not the way it's presented on sci/fi & felt sorry for some of the SG1 actors that went down that patch. Maybe there will be some good ones come out soon enough though...sci/fi without the weird looking fluffy faced actors playing super hero's...you know what I mean.
I did like Fire Fly...I thought that was different but not as screwed up as many of the others. I got the movie Serenity & the series on Bluray in HDMA (sounds fantastic and looks really great!) My fear is that they will have run a series short like Fire Fly, but will let this new crap SGU run.
But like I say...given the sate of SCI/Fi showing today...I'll probably end up watching it...can only hope I guess.

DS9 was hopeless .... too much religion and hokuspokus , really didn't like the series .
Fire Fly was also rubbish (it was a western set on space).

Boohoo girl (the pretty sorority princess) and everyone else comes back to life in ep9 , it's as if in ep9 that ep8 never happened.

Red Dwarf is purile and stupid .... but it's also full of dark humour and is funny.

LEX has been a good watch, thanks for reminding me about it!!!
Was not surprised to see SGU drop...it should of been presented in a different light...Although somewhat disapointed it SLOWLY became watchable with the hope of actually going somewhere, but given the SAGA........I don't think so.........I hope you all catch your downloads and enjoy
