Hi All,
We played a dead-set shocker -- worse we played to _their_ strengths. Too much dropped ball. George Gregan choked -- too indecisive in the clinch. Far too often the Wallaby ball carriers were left completely isolated at the break-down -- lost the ball and momentum. The only thing that worked well for us was defence.
Having said that, the ref played a shocker too. He constantly allowed the England forwards to loiter off-side around the rucks (just like 2003) and they made almost no attempt to keep their feet in the rucks -- they just threw themselves over the ball. If it was a South African or NZ ref things could have been different.
All credit to the poms they played very well to the same (largely negative) game plan from the 2003 final and it worked beautifully for them. It won't work against the All-Blacks I think.
But, every cloud has a siver-lining -- I guess it now means I won't feel guilty about going observing next Saturday night!
Best,
Les Dalrymple

Bring on the AB's : )))))
If we beat France this morning we'll be playing England next week.
Even though the Wallabies lost I think I would prefer the AB"s
playing England... but we're still to get there yet

English pride restored.
After our defeats in Cricket recently, it is nice to have an English win in something…anything, just to restore our pride and lift the Nation. Well done England!
Cheers

Well looks like we'll be catching a flight back to the southern hemisphere
will the Wallabies. 20 - 18 to France, they put up an excellent defensive
side and played with a lot of heart. They were really in the AB's faces
especially in the second half. A bit disapointed about the inconsistancy
of the ref, sin binned Luke McAlister for taking a player out, yet I saw two
instances where the French did the same. Enabling the French to score
a try off a blatant forward pass while we were down a man.
The game was won on a forward pass, But there you go, must be a northern
hemisphere ref thing.

If Fiji get knocked out, then I'll be going for Argentina. I'd still rather see France or England win rather than South Africa, though. Actually, is there anyone who's not South African that actually supports them?

Give the English supporters something to cheer about, Australia was nowhere near 100%, and they had their chances and blew it.......I guess its the only thing England can cheer about in sporting circles at the moment...hehe
New Zealand rugby supporters are very let down AGAIN! I'd hate to be in their shoes!
See if you poms can make it without JW next time around....
Bring on CRICKET!
India and Sri Lanka are here this year aren't they!?

Five bucks says our flight home beats yours Rob
I'll go the boks I think they are a very credible team of late who are
well due for a little kinder bounce of the ball..
failing that its GO the southern hemisphere no matter whos in the final

No Conspiracy theory , truth is in the video and repeated in the sports news so I'm not whinging
Anyways World Cup Champs who ever they turn out to be wont be world
best for too long
Graham, the Boks enough said overall I probably think the Boks
will take the Trophy... but if the French keep playing a nice defensive
game and England keep impoving the Bok's might have a fight on their
hands. But then again I would love to see Fiji or Argentina do it over
the Boks. Then we can look at bringing them into the Tri Nations : )))))

Well the Fijians didn't quite make it, although I hear they did put a scare
into the Boks, but I wouldn't know as I crashed and missed most of the game.
Argentina did make it pelting the Scots, I woke to watch the last ten minutes
of the first half.
Go Argentina!!!!

I hope it's France v Argentina final. That would be something different and great for the game in their respective countries.
Cheers
