Great shots so far.
Like yours 33south very nice indeed. Paul I love the colour in yours.
I live in the part of Victoria where there's lots of water. But I thought taking a pik of Port Phillip bay was a bit been there done that
But there some nice spots around the bay
Who knows and I look foward to seeing more shots.
Not sure about yours Asi, my kids liked it

Very nice, Paul. (RR). Great scene choice & you timed it for the best colours.
Also very nice pic 33south. L.

yes Paul's and 33's pictures are very very good, I like them both. Paul's is a warm rich image with thought provoking scenery to think about the image and what it means. 33South's is just stunningly beautiful, airy and icey.

Thanks for your opinion Mike....I was wondering what you thought of my 'antics' at times.
Rather than degrade the competition (which is the last thing I wanted) feel free to delete it. (balls in you court...I don't mind)

I would just call it "pop" art mike, Asimov has developed the topic very well and even captures the Aussie feel! They are artistic shots. I like them

I love the B1/B2 pics in the general chat forum, I think they're great work. But in my opinion (and so far, it seems to be just my opinion), they don't belong in the photography challenge and potentially take votes away from people who are taking the photography part of the challenge seriously.
Yes I know there's no prizes and it's all in good fun (a break from astro stuff), so that's why I don't feel too strongly about it.
I'm happy to leave it until there are other objections apart from my own (feel free to PM me).

I agree with h0ughy Mike, Asi's shots, despite the humourous content, have been carefully set up, composed and presented in a professional manner. IMHO no different to placing a pogo stick up a tree and shooting it, or bouncing a toy around as I did in the last challenge. The real challenge for Asi would be to tell the story without the text.

Even though it's a 'humorous' photo, I took it seriously from the onset. 6-7 hours work for me from conception to posting it. The photos I treated the same as any other I take: noise reduction/sharpening/etc. the same as I would a picture of Saturn or a sunset. It's mainly directed at the kid in us all obviously.
I won a few small 'film' making awards in high school (horror & sci-fi mix)....but not in the usual fashion, they were presented the way as this double B shot above, like a comic strip but using photos. No computers back then, so it was intensive work with film/props. As houghy says...it's art using still shots from a camera.
Anyway, good to hear some opinions on this as I wasn't sure if I was being looked upon as a nutcase/non-serious amateur astronomer or someone just trying to keep the forum entertained with a few crazy photos. Everyones entitled to their opinion, & the minute I find out these kind of shots are not wanted in this forum I'll stop. The more opinions I get the better. Be honest!
Be thankful I don't post bob & B1 horror-sci-fi's!!....because I have them on my computer just ready to be unleashed on an unsuspecting forum!! (don't worry Mike I'll never post 'em in your forum mate.

Thanks for your comments, most breaks would be caused by avalanches.

Dave47tuc, as you say the 5500 (and you) have done a nice job on the colours through the water, I also like the delicate starlike highlights in the foreground.
As a passing comment I noticed the date/timestamp was 2006:01:10

Oops I have never changed the time settings on the camera.
I was supposed to rename it also.
Thanks for your comments. I'm still learning to use the camera, and having a lot of fun with it.
I took about 200 shots this morning down at fossil beach(name of local beach)
My wife picked out the one I posted. There about 10 really nice ones.

Two more good pictures, could be a record number of entries this month.
Hope we are not limited to one vote, even choosing 2 or 3 is getting more difficult by the day.
