Nitpick: The existence of "Nemesis" cannot be entirely discounted as yet.

But I had to Google "Drop Bears"!

Will have to get the Pluto man (Who ever) to de-list it as planet (Damn). another one bites the dust.

Not faked....a very Marsy Moon from August 28th 2007, total Luna Eclipse.
The only year that the Mars hoax nearly came true.

This might work in a geocentric solar system but in a heliocentric system (we are all agreed that the Earth orbits the Sun - right?) it has to be heading straight for a moving target. So does it change course continuously to keep us in its crosshairs, and if so where does it get the energy to change direction? Or is it heading straight to where the Earth will be on that fateful day? In either case its apparent position will not be fixed but move due to parallax. Someone more mathematically orientated than I (Carl??) may wish to calculate the amount of parallax at various distances but it is obvious that the parallax will increase as it gets closer. It will also get brighter. So we will have an increasing bright object moving at an increasingly rapid rate across an increasingly large span of sky. That will present an increasingly big challenge to those nasty conspiritual governments who wish to keep us all in the dark about the horrible fate that awaits us.

Hi Marco & All,

First up, welcome to Ice in Space Marko and I hope your stay here is an enjoyable one.

To the rest of you, after having read this thread I've got to say you are a lot of appalling cynics. For a bunch of science-types, you have very fixed views and closed minds and am simply incredulous that you won't give this Nibiru thing a bit of air-time and consider its substantial and well-founded claims seriously.

... oh and Mike, we really do need a "sarcasm" font mate.

Best,

Les D

Les, how could you say that! I'm will to consider any and all substantial and well-founded claims seriously. Oh, and you don't need a new font, the sarcasm oozes out of your post.

Yep...."Arm a geddon outa here!!!!"

Seriously, it's their highest state of readiness for a war....basically everything is armed and ready to fire, all it needs is for Pres' to press the little red button.

Last week, I had to sympathetically explain to someone at work that this is all a big hoax. It was a tough gig, but I think I convinced them.

Off topic but pertaining to ppl's ignorance & gullability, I was nearly in tears trying to explain to my cousin that the Crux constellation (Southern Cross) had not shifted from the northern skies and was only in the southern skies for the last two thousand or so years. Apparently she heard this nonsense when on a tour in Israel. In the end there was no point trying to reason with her in a logical way, sadly that was the truth for her. I'd love to know if anyone else has heard any weird stories about Crux like that

No, nothing like that. I can imagine that if something like that was connected to religion, people would fall for it.

The actual term stands for 'Defence Condition 1'

Sort of like 'Battle Stations' or 'RED ALERT' in Star Trek

The big question is....were the girls "dopped on" on, or were they "dropping'd on"? If it was the latter and I was one of those girls, that would've messed up my day big time.
