Jen,
The patches are cheap compared to what the ciggies will cost in the long run!
Stay strong!!!
Get someone else to get your notes from the shed for you...
Bribe them with some of that chocolate.

Interesting, everybody is talking about money, nobody about gusto.
Nothing better than a smoke and nice macchiato.

Well Jen
The area inwhich I work, I see the results from smoking from day to day.
People with their toes amputated, coughing and choking after an anaesthetic, short of breath after the simplest activity not to mention the co-morbidities like heart disease and Cancers.
There is light at the end of the tunnel though. If you smoke say a packet every two days the cost per week will be between $30 to $50. Now over a year you are looking at a saving of $2500 to $3000. Imagine the scope you can buy with that sort of money.
Good luck Jen a chuppa chup may help the "something in the mouth issue"
Regards Paul.

What if, you pretend to buy ciggies but you hide the money somewhere where noone can find it than there would be noone to ask any quistions on why you are spending thousands a year on scopes!

Try weaning yourself off the ciggies by say one per day or couple per week. Find a distraction like an activity you enjoy, a particular food you like etc.

Hi Jen
I reckon joining a gym does wonders too It not only reminds you that you need to stop but other people you meet can support you, not to mention the tight body you will develop (maybe you have one already) your fitness will improved too

Champix mate and keep away from astro imaging. It will drive you back to the ciggies!

Jen,
I can totally relate to your struggle.
I just gave up the coffin nails 1st May. Stopped the patches too at the same time !
Imaging nights are long and hard especially in terms of staying awake, resisting the urge to smoke and destroy equipment in frustration.
what's helping me is:
music,
movies (on a different laptop)
good company (very helpful)
reduced caffeine, increased nibblies and juice
playing with the three dogs
yes all this while imaging
hang in there

I can attest to Frank's message. He's been really good -- even throwing away/destroying his emergency stash!
