I thought I recognised that poster. That's the pic I took and sent to NASA but they made it look worse than the original when they posterised it. In the original I took you can see the hooks on the end of the strings! And the bloke hooking them on!! Serious!

Uuummm.....Why August 13th?? & thanks! It certainly keeps me out of Micki's hair during the day! She loves my saturns, she kept raving about my latest efforts all day today, & she's not really into astronomy at all.. Made her eyes pop when I resampled at 2.5X today & got her to stand back a few metres from the lappy! he-he!

just made the date after jupiters opposition in may i think???

i thought there would be a few months of re processing and then a yearning for an eyepiece!!!

we had some friends over of lisa and their husbands for dinner (pizza). here is lisa dragging everyone out to try and chase the moon thru the clouds thru my scope. she must be a closet astronomer!!

Cool! It's a great feeling when the beloved shows some interest! But not to forget to show some interest in what their doing also.

Yeah, perhaps the re-sampling may get old.....but in my 'spare time' I'm resampling my mars & kodak pics on the main puter at the same time!! Hooked, or what!??

I'm being booted....the bigpond 10 hr thing & it's time for saturn anyway.....I'll catch you up tomorrow! Happy dobby drilling/cutting!!

c'mon Asi, it's really a Tak 150 or Astrophysics Starfire 6 you're using isn't it

a beautiful image by any standards and with any gear

BTW you guys are lucky to get any family interest, I don't eben get "that'snice dear" anymore and the kids just groan and roll their eyes at anything to do with telescopes - except they do quite like going to play with "muffy" a little maltes who lives at Sirius Optics...

Here's my wifes (Micki) attempt at reprocessing saturn. Found it on my desktop this morning. Nice job honey!!!

I have NO idea how she got the rings close to natural colour!

that's brilliant! how lucky you are to have a wife that not only looks at your images, but improves upon them (my wife's eyes just glaze over at any mention of astronomy..unless I'm talking spending money in which case they more blaze than glaze).

what a team

Nice picture of the laptop! Was that stacked 500 times, deconvoluted...
Bet the seeing & transparency in the room was 10/10! Nice natural color!

Did your wife take that one too?
