HELLO everyone and HAPPY NEW YEAR.

I don't usually make new years resolutions (probably just so I don't have to try to stick to them) but here we go...

1. Look more.
2. Eat less; drink less.
3. Be a better mum.
4. Be more tolerant (of everything).
5. Get outdoors more and smell more than the roses.

All this is making me tired. Time for a snack and a nap (!! haha).

Kerrie

Only four main ones this year.

1. Finish the retaining wall around the house.

2. Build the chook pen and vege garden.

3. Get my advanced firefighter certification.

4. Build the observatory and get more sky time.

Have a happy and wonderful new year everyone.

Cheers

Pay off my credit card. I'm on track to have it paid off by the end of May.

If I didn't see a mate playing with Stellarium last year, I would not have become interested in astronomy. I would owe a lot less on my credit card, and I wouldn't be posting this because I wouldn't have joined IIS.

1. Quit smoking.
2. Eat Healthier.
3. Get onto the surfboard again.
4. De-clutter my life... come from a family of hoarders.
5. Take more risks... eg, the tough one, pluck up the courage to tell the girl at work I love her
6. Crash and burn (see #5)

Hoo yeah! Relationship with the mother in law is paramount IMHO. If you play your cards right when your wife fights with her mum, all of a sudden you're the good guy/confident from both sides. You can get anything you want. It's tricky, but this equilibrium is pure heaven (while it lasts). It's like riding a wave. Then you've got to dodge the dog house again (x10) coz let's face it, that's like gravity, nothing's more certain.

Continuing the wave / surfing analogy Marc.....
I'd end up dumped on the rocks, my mouth full of sand. My board
snapped in half and her telling me where I'm going wrong in life.
Safer out in the deeper water where the white pointers are.
This woman is a scary piece of work duuuude!

I never used to make New Years Resolutions but now I set myself goals rather than "resolutions" as such.

Stuff I want to achieve in the year, rather than stuff to stop doing or start doing.

I've set most of mine for 2010 now, but need to come up with some career/work related ones when it comes to KPI time in the next month or so.

Just do it Jen! Think of all the money you'll save. You can use this saved money on astro gear. And if that's not enough, try cutting back on your booze as well.

Giving up smoking is easy. I did it lots of times.

A method to implement that resolution I once heard of: Evaluate just how much you spend on the habit.

Each week instead of spending on ciggies place the money in a jar. The jar must be secured by anyone that can stop you from ratting the jar, and be trustworthy ofcourse.

Eventually on a pre- arranged date or amount you get the jar to spend as reward. It can be as little as a month or two at first. Then go longer.

By having someone help you it becomes a little easier to discipline yourself.

Good Luck

Cheers Marty

Nah... alcohol is alright in moderation. It's good for you. Smoking though is a dirty habit hard to shake. Took me years to give up. I think you need to cut down and ease into it. You just can't stop altogether. You'll be stuck in the lolly shop eating Mars bars 24/7. ... I did.
