Downloaded it, took all day to torrent it , over 2GB = the frist two eps.

UNWATCHABLE - sounds OK, but the video is hopeless .

So much for that , guess I'll have to wait for the DVD.

I downloaded the HD version (combined ep1 and ep2) , couldn't get it play on my lappy , videocard caching issues ??? or slow video response ??? (almost watchable setting the cache at 70ms , gave up and tried the desktop (bigger RAM and better video card (?)) , didn't have to mess about the caching rate , just needed to tell it to play STEREO... once I installed VLC Media Player.

Was a 2.2GB (HD) MKV file ..... needed to download VLC Media Player to view it , as Windows Media Player spat the dummy , so did InterVideo . Too about 14hrs to download.

Will download the SD version if I can find it and compare with the viewing quality on my 19" screen.

Gave me something to watch other than crappy vision and zoomzooms on TV , and weather was not nice for fishing.

Looked OK on the 19" 1280x1024 Samsung 5ms screen. Would have been nice to view it on the 15" 1400x1080 Dell Lappy screen in comfort in my loungeroom rather than on the office chair.

Wanted to copy the ep1 + ep2 merged file to DVD but for some reason my DVD burner on the desktop wont let me.... maybe these MKV files from Vuze are protected ??? ??? .

Ep1 and Ep2 were OK , too many flash backs . A lot of character development . Then it was the same for SG1 and SG Atlantis.

Looking forward to when Ep3 is there to be downloaded and viewed.

Thinking of downloading ANDROMEDA , I believe there are 4 seasons of that to see and we'll never see it here in Australia , either on FTATV or DVD.

As someone who as legitimately purchased Stargate SG-1 Seasons 1 through 10, and Stargate Atlantis Seasons 1 through 5, I will be waiting untill Stargate Universe comes out on DVD to purchase that too... I watched the initial episodes on Foxtel, and thus far, I don't think its up to the same high standards set by SG-1 or Atlantis, however it does have potential... I've set up series link on Foxtel IQ, so it records every ep even if im not home at the time, so I'll watch the lot, and still buy it on DVD just so I have the complete collection on DVD...

Regards, Massive Stargate Fan.

Have watched 90% of all SG stuff, have missed an episode here or there but SciFi are replaying a lot so am getting a chance to catch up.

If only they had made 10 years worth of Firefly :/

OK .... S01E03 , The Desert Planet.

The ancient ship somehow knew to stop and park itself near a planet that had previously been seeded by robot scout ships with a stargate and the only thing of use is some lime at a dry (or not so dry) ancient lake or sea bed .

Yeh.... right.

More flash backs.

Ancient extragalactic instanteous psychic communication devices that allow the marooned humans to communicate one at a time with people back on earth (by somehow swapping consciousnesses .... ) that's stupid.

Dust devils that like water , and soak it up and stalk the stroppy Lt , and when he is dehydrated, somehow make water well up through the sand that's (off cause) drinkable.

The ghost of a priest who appears out of nowhere and we get more dammed flashbacks , and learn the Lt was thinking of becoming a priest ??

What the heck happened to the 3 members the away team who gated to another world (against orders from the desert world) ?

S01E01 and E02 .... 7/10
S01E03 ................ 6/10

I hope things become more interesting from E04 next week.

Will continue downloading it , I've given up on Seven and Ten , and refuse to pay through the nose for SCIFI-TV on payTV ,and don't hold out much hope of this Series coming out on DVD any time soon.

Indeed Ian more questions than answers

the stones are a laugh considering the distance they are apparently from Earth instantaneous communication over galactic distances a little bit too far fetched in my book

According to IMDB, there are 3 more episodes to go which should be coming out shortly. The ABC in the US hasn't shown Ep 10 yet, so they'll be starting with that with the rest to follow Friday night's so I've heard. Beyond that who knows.

Really sucks as we are only going to get to see them go to Venus (Episode 12) and then that's most likely going to be it for the planets. I was really looking forward to the Mars mission considering the events which happened 10 years ago, and the likelihood that they will find the crewmembers they left behind all those years ago.

The two people a blonde geologist and a soldier that gated to the other world are not on the ship at the end

the small ship that leaves right at the end is not part of the Destiny but was sitting on the hull see attached

STARGATE UNIVERSE...Looks as if it's for people who don't understand sci/fi. Has too much Battlestar Galactica moments with the dodgy camera work and over dramatised moments. I'm going to try and hang on a little as I beleive they might actually realise if they continue with it the way it is, they will loose an entire generation of stargate whatchers. If the continuing episoide is anything to go by, then each ep will be like sitting down for an hour to watch what SG1 did in 15 minutes. The cast is also looking dogy as well...It took a bit of getting usded to watching children at the controls of the enterprise in the New Star Trek movie...I was eventually won me over with the excellent recreation of the whole thing...Stargate universe seems to be lacking in a big way...It's a big gamble with all this comprimise to win over new audiances...still a litte early to call...

As for the comment on "
Not enough gratuitous sex or insanely grotesque violence
No "dumb blondes" in bikinis
No "reality TV" based moments
It involves some science (yuk, weird stuff!!!)
No banal or pathetically obvious storylines "
Go watch Battlestar Galactica...you'll get plenty of that there...less of course you want to watch the 70's series...who knows...if things keep going the way they are with Stargate, I'm sure after they ware out this one, it will have all that crap on offer the year after.
Perhaps your right about todays audiances wanting all that crap...(sarcastically so)...if your typical Sci/fi channel is anything to go by, then it would make sense. They really seem to be mixing all the genres way too much.
As stand alone movies go though...& considering my aprehension with all the BS in Sci/fi these day...It's nice to know when done right-a wider audiance can be brought togeather-The new Star Trek Movie proved that one to me.
If you liked Stargate SG1 & Atlantis-don't hold your breath in the opening scenes or following episodes-may be time to start watching re-runs with all the bells & wistles...We definatley looking into blu-ray relaeses (despite earlier productions) for the entire Stargate SG1 & Atlantis series. Whats all this talk about "Torrents" Pirate bay seems to be shut down now? Can we even discuss Torrents & the type of this site or any...or am I missing the content in which your sugesting it?

Interesting point Trevor,
The wife and I thought that was the only entertaining/interisting & thought provoking moment in that episode...took long enough though. Lets hope we can start to see more of these moments happen throughout an episode rather than having to wait an entire hour.

LOL...at least the stargate can be used to boot the cast as the show rolls on...Heheheheee

I think this series will be good just like the others were, perhaps it may seem to be a bit slow for some of us but we all have different viewing tastes. It is annoying though when you have an episode recorded or downloaded ready to watch at your leisure and people spoil it for you before watching it.
