No such thing as 'free speech' in Oz. Not in our constitution.
Our own weird/strange/unanswered one..... how about the dreaded 'Big Black cat', that roams around the various NSW/Vic.??? country sides. L.

I have crop circles in my backyard! Well okay grass circles. http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...ead.php?t=3243

I dunno, I think MOST of them are made by bored persons with nothing better to do. I suspect SOME of them are made by natural phenomena. The UFO's make the rest.

Though I believe the only vowel in Crop should be an 'a', I liked the plot of the Mel Gibson movie where the crop circles were signposts for an alien invasion.

Though it was a bit odd that the aliens themselves had no weapons or defences to speak of....

I'm going with the alien vote. Not because I beleive that's who made them. I just love the underdog. No matter who made them they look great and give people like us something new to vote on and have a blast chatting about them. Some of the english ones have been man made but what about the others around the world? Have they all been explained? Maybe some have been made as dead set hoaxes to cover for the real ones!! There are a lot of possibilities and we shouldn't discount them all just because a few are bogus.

No no, no! They are aliens disguised as humans!

Ok Gazz you tell me honestly then, what is the most likely cause of these things. Given that when the "experts" take their "energy measurements" they declare the proven hoax circles "genuine".

Most likely cause (about 99.99999%) : Human

Lots of fun

Actually, you will find the majority of them are made by Helicopter blades from Helicopters landing & taking off upside down. chop, chop, chop!

Oh?? I usually drive a star dropper in somewhere & attach a piece of rope.....Go to the end of the rope, & start walking in 1 direction, taking small steps of course!....eventually you end up in the centre....pull dropper out, stamp in the middle a bit then leave.

But everyone has their own methods I guess!?

Oh dear Asicircle,

Are you still doing it the old way?

Try the new quicker method. Go hire a Helicopter, fly to the paddock you want to make the pattern in, then flip the copter over. Watch the lovely patterns it makes.

Just ignore the fire, explosion, blood, guts etc. Small problems for the sake of 'Crop Circle Art'.

I must admit, your method is more efficient (apart from the mess to clean up after) but mine is cheaper! It's still the best method for the budget-minded..

Good point John.

But . . . is the Star Dropper an Alt/Az or an EQ? and do you use f5 or f8 rope?

Oh, and which Star is the best to Drop?

Uuuummm........I usually give the dropper a swift kick with me steel-capped boots to get it perfectly polar aligned 1st mate.....BTW seeing as were in the south, there IS no polar star!

I think you may have to attend 'BOB' & B1s star-camp there organising in 2006?? B1 is the local expert in polar aligning star-droppers....he'll show you the (f/12) ropes!!
