Hey Mozzie,
you'll meet more at iisac
Perhaps I am uninitiated. I assume that iisac means IIS at Cambroon?
I have been informed of such nights. They sound great. I have not had the opportunity to view through any other scope apart from my Celestron Nexstar 8se (200mm SCT).
I haven't seen how photography is done. Even tracking an object.
There hasn't been enough clear skies for me to practice much. I'm willing to learn and I promise to be a good student to IIS Members.
I'm also looking forward to further outings at the Hunting lodge in the near future . With other members living near or visiting.
Cheers Marty

Hey Mike,
IISAC is the IceInSpace AstroCamp!
Thanks for that. I may have been under the delusion it was Cambroon for some time.
Uninitiated I am.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
and where was my invite Marty
Hey Green OSG,
Oooh! Eeee Aaah. Er. I was.... That is I
This one's easy I can get outta jail here. Free.
Well you see, Your Ladyship, I am the invited and its not my place to invite.
If it were I would not hesitate to forward an invitation to you.
Invite the Green Thing and you'll not see your scopes again. Don't do it guys. (written in invisible green ink)
Just for you Oh Great OSG, I will strongly request that your presence at the convention be encouraged by the organisers.
Regarding the bus tour: It is a good idea but I can not see it get off the ground.
There are too many variables. ie. Not enough numbers to finance the trip. Time off from other committments would not syncronise adequately.
Then there's that area in Victoria/ NSW. No Astro Geek dares to go near. . Swan Hill. Aaah sorry people I said the bad word.
Yes! I know, I will go and wash my mouth out with soap.
Cheers Marty

Hey Local Members,
I would like to arrange a casual social meeting at the Hunting Lodge in the near future. Near Kilcoy. (Queensland)
The aim is to meet face to face and have a little 'throat oil'. The Lodge is also good for casual meals.
I have a friend, Colin, who is a good photographer and part of his business was photo restoration. Now He is into other business. An informed sort of guy who is very proficient with Photoshop. Loves to answer questions on manipulating images. He has already voiced compliance.
If there is any interest I'll organise a date. The venue is an interesting spectacle itself and worth seeing. Refer to jjj's posted photos earlier this thread. Wine tasting the wares produced by the winery. Is on the agenda. Yes it is a winery.
Almost Forgot: Herein is a special invitation to the Green OSG.
You are invited.
My apologies to the members.
If I neglect to invite Green Devil Woman... er OSG, I will be ducking and weeving the green lightning bolts for weeks.
RSVP if interested.
Cheers Marty

Hey jjj,
I think its a bit far for most members even if they are almost local. We just need to work out a date etc. After letting this post roll for a few days.
Cheers Marty

Hi Jen,
I could be really nasty and say, "We choose to live here, where we are well away from something that turns everything green or pink. Or rips off our toys."
But I'm not a nasty person. So I say this--- Have your own little meeting. Have a look around, find a venue. One that is free, sells/serves refreshments and is reasonably close. Then organise your own get together. Post a thread, check among your non astro friends for photographers, geologists/scientists, electonic technitions, etc. Take a few pix and post them like jjj did. Even a phone camera takes shots that are good enough.
I chose the winery, "The Hunting Lodge", because it has a casual restuarant and free wine tasting. Its an hour's drive for me but its close to some other IIS members.
If you decide to go ahead have fun. Even if only one or two people turn up and its your first meeting with them it can be a very rewarding afternoon.
For me, I think at most that turn up on Saturday will be 6 or 7, but at least 3 or 4.
Cheers Marty
