Only 3 months to go until IISAC2008!

The booking form is almost complete and should be live within 2 weeks, when you'll be able to start making and confirming your bookings.

Hi all

It's with great pleasure I can announce that IISAC2008 Registrations are NOW OPEN!

The online registration form is linked from the IISAC2008 Info page.

With only 2.5 months to go, make your booking early, and make your payment early (before 14th October) to receive a $10 discount off the total price.

The IISAC2008 Info page has also been updated to include details of the catered dinner provided by the Gresford RFB (should you choose to include dinner in your booking), and also a look at the IISAC2008 T-Shirt design (attached).

I look forward to seeing you there. Please contact me (PM or email) if you have any questions or problems with your registration or the online form.

The IISAC2008 Info page will updated in the next few weeks with the agenda for talks etc.

Thanks!

BRISBANITES!

Anyone wanting to travel down to IISAC08 and split fuel costs, PM me. I'm thinking of hiring a mini-van, so a mass of gear shouldnt be a problem...

Let me know!!

Have just promoted IISAC within my workplace..

Quote:
Hi all

If you've ever wanted to see the spiral arm structure of other galaxies in our universe, or see the gaseous dusty nebulosity from far away regions where stars are being born, or see magnificent globular clusters containing a million stars bound by their combined gravity - then the IceInSpace AstroCamp 2008 (IISAC2008) is for you!

If you've never been out under dark skies, away from the city glow to see the brilliant Milky Way stretching overhead, then the IISAC2008 is for you!

IceInSpace AstroCamp 2008 is a star party, organised and run by me through my astronomy website, IceInSpace. It's being held over 3 nights, from the 30th October to the 2nd November 2008, at Lostock Scout Camp, Lostock, in the beautiful Hunter Valley area of NSW. It's only 4 hours drive from Sydney, and you'll be amongst clear, very dark skies in a lovely country setting.

There is bunkbed and camping accommodation available, there is amenity blocks with hot showers, flush toilets and full power.

There'll be up to 200 or more space and astronomy enthusiasts attending, most with telescopes - but you don't need a telescope to come along. Everyone is more than willing to share the views through their telescope, and there will be sky tours conducted each night where you'll be able to view the universe through large 18" to 25" telescopes. (examples here and here).

Everyone is welcome, bring the family along, and share some views and experiences you never thought you'd see.

For more information, more pictures, prices, and to book - please see the IISAC page at:

http://www.iceinspace.com.au/iisac

Please feel free to email me if you've got any questions.

Mike Salway
Feel free to promote it to your work colleagues as well!

HRH Liz & I might be starters, we were hoping for Astrofest but work commitments stopped that. We may be travelling to QLD about that time.

I was just wondering if there is going to be an Imaging competition at IISAC 08?

I'm not sure how many people are going to be imaging but it would be great if there is some kind of competition for the best image taken at Lostock.

There is nothing better than some friendly competition once in a while ey Alex.

I'm sure there will be a fight over who gets the most power cables to power their equipment.

Hi guys, no imaging comp at IISAC2008. Maybe in the future.

There's enough to organise without the added stresses of an imaging competition The rules, the judging, the prizes... too much!

But I won't rule it out for next year or in the future..
