Lets do some profiling if we can not talk to the fella.
I am not going to even start but still hold out my hand in friendship.
Not to accept ones offer of friendship and give a hand shake my Mother always told me showed that even a small boy could be bigger than the biggest yet unforgiving man.

Will you step forward please and show us you are a man.
I for one will respect that courage as all will I expect.

I offer you a chance of redemption you responce will tell us much about your character.

Other hold you in a dim view here is your chance to stand up and give respect or simply hide run awya and surface again I expect under another name...

It is up to you...

Alex, it's only mid-afternoon, mate.

Maybe the guy is at work...maybe he's in transit? Who knows?

Everyone's had their say...

Now, perhaps it's best to sit back and let our friend reply.

Jeepers! What a post!

Uhmm.. as far as I'm aware, Mike Salway is not a professional astronomer, and has not trained as one. My guess is that he has no related qualifications either. I might be wrong.

So... given that, OF COURSE he is going to plagiarise certain works to satisfy the requirement that AS&T have put on him - or he has offered. What's wrong with that? He's not a pro - just interested like the rest of us. He does get his name mentioned more than most and good luck to him. Some of us like to hang our names out there and hope to have colleagues respond favourably - Mike is one of these. I don't have a problem with that and if I wanted to be noticed and/or respected for the effort I'd put in I'd do the same. No big deal! There are numerous others here who have been published in a magazine or newspaper - me included. It's nice getting to have a say without others trying to find fault.

The subject has been commonly spoken of - so nothing anyone is going to say will be unique.

Mike - I enjoyed the article anyway.

Cheers
Chris

So one paragraph was similar in Mike's words, which Mike also stated was unintentional and has apologised for it (which I don't think was needed). I don't think there will be a team of lawyers sending writs to the Offices of AS&T.

For starters it's not like he was writing a 600 page thesis for his PHD or something similar.

I thought it was a great essay and quite interesting and wish that I could write as well.

I look forward to more articles from Mike.

I suspect a few are having a good laugh at the elusive Bisqueboy, but I doubt that anyone's taking him seriously.

A Real Pitty

Bisqueboy or should I say biscuitboy, it is areal shame you only seem to be on this planet to be the guardian angle of those who probably don't wish you to front for them. Mike has made an attempt to inform those of us who appreciate the research and knowlege he has and is prepared to share. You would do far better to stay away for a while and try to impart your questionable knowlege in perhaps a law forum instead of questioning an amatuer who is doing his best to promote this wonderful hobbie.

Great article Mike and all your work with this site is really appreciated.

Thankyou all for your support. I wish it wasn't necessary in this instance.

I'm going to close this thread now because the issue has been dealt with and any further replies are just going to ignite more ill-feeling, which is not what we're about here at IceInSpace.

I'm sure a lot of you were looking forward to a reply from bisqueboy, but it won't be coming. He has now been banned because he has shown to have absolutely no interest in contributing to IceInSpace as a community site and has only tried to stir up trouble. He has an obvious alternate agenda, whether it's commercial in nature or not is not my concern. It's his attitude and trouble-making which directly contravenes the spirit and community feeling that has been the trademark of IceInSpace for over 3 years now.

To make it clear, for those that will no doubt jump to the wrong conclusions, this has absolutely nothing to do with his obvious anti-AS&T stance. It has everything to do with his attitude and trouble-making - behaviours which are simply not welcome at IceInSpace.
