Quickly book her into one of those beauty parlors for a nail and hair do.....
Make sure it is one that operates tonight...many do.
Pick her up after the meeting and tell her you have had "stars" in your eyes all night waiting for her........
If that fails tell her the best present you could have to mark the occasion is either a new 130Tak or a night at the astro meeting......bet I know which you get

cheers
John

I like the video idea - except I would go one further, get some secret agent stuff ie a someone videoing in real time the meeting which is streamed live to you using, idunno 3G, (with the help of an accomplice) and you watch it one of those glasses that project the images onto one lens and listen via a secreted earpiece, and you are smiling and nodding and making champagne flute toasts while viewing, 'oh yes darling heres to another 100 years' blah blah
you like?

to keep your head above, you know WHAT (in my case for 40 yrs) h0ughy, you have to be creative

by the way - you should have taken her out Sunday nite

another tip from the Owl - you have to designate one of your children to remind you of birthdays and anniversaries lest you run out of rungs on the ladder that keeps your head above 'IT'

use whatever means/threats you have to, in order to get one of them to perform this life saving duty.

OK bit of a mix - - i bought Chinese, and a bottle or two of wine - 1 gone. no she has no idea of the poll , doesn't know what I do here !!!! We are assembling a Christmas tree with the kids, plan to finish the bottle of chardy soon with the toasting of the tree and lights on. She knew about the meeting but said that I could go, then laughed, I have had one drink too many and cannot drive . The hide of the woman . Oh well not to worry, helps deaden the back pain!! I hope someone is videotaping the meeting .

to all who replied with concern thanks. SWMBO is bathing the kids now which is why I am on the net will post a picture of the tree soon, and the ring

Take her out for dinner and before the end of the night mention the word Observatory without making it so obvious.

The night will be a success either way.
