Thanks Paul. Yeah the blue cast is evident in the background because there is more noise in the blue channel due to lower elevation and I also pushed it harder for the color balance. I should do star mask to isolate the galaxy and stars and neutralize the colors in the field.

I know how hard it is to image this from down here and you've done a great job.
One of my favourite objects and I'd love to image this again.
You've inspired me now, thank you.

Thanks Andrew. It was on my to-do list and the main reason I did the trip up there originally. It was funny to see all the scopes on the field pointing an imaging south. I was one of the few imaging above the trees on the northern horizon

Yeah, really good Marc! Better than some NH versions I've seen. It would be a tough job from home though. Time well spent at Astrofest!

Great work Marc. You've got fantastic detail popping out there.
Agree with your concerns about fog. Its insidious at those low altitudes and easy to miss unless there is a whiteout.
I think sometimes the first hint on these low objects is sizeable gradients in what was otherwise a pretty dark sky. The reds are starting to peek through. What an amazing galaxy

Thanks Russel. Yes the FSQ/QHY8 combo is just right for it. 2.6x1.7 degrees.

Thanks Rob. You're right about the fog. I had some gradients to deal with. Still better than here.
