No different than Meade's focus on magnification of their share price for the buyout.

Looking at the heritage of the prospective buyers, JOC seemed to have better credentials to keep the brand going.

Indeed! JOC would have been far, far better,having supplied Meade with quality products for quite some time.Cheers

Then again, from a business perspective, a great way for the new owner to accelerate their business objectives.

To come into a market with very little credentials and try to make a premium product without heritage is very hard. Buying a name like Meade, which has had in the past a good name and brand recognition, can lift your company perception dramatically
