Sydney Swans...

OK it's now duck season...err rabbit..err duck...

(I fear my introduction may be lost on non-Looney tunes watching TV generations )

I captured this limited data-set just before CWAS.

...unfortunately the green exposure had been obstructed by the edge my observatory's aperture...hence the weird diffraction spike on the bright field star at lower right.

The link is here

Frank and fearless feedback always welcome !

Very impressive Peter. RH wins again. Should have had a drool at it when I was recently at your place.

Cheers

Not sure how I'd react to drool on the optics

Ta Steve.

A Daffy and Bugs (bunny) classic.

BTW I think I could just as easily be called the duck nebula

The extended nebulosity around the Swan is fantastic. More from the stars please. I'm a sucker for rich saturation. They appear overwhelmed by the nebulosity a little, still I'd probably present it the same way as the focus is on the Swan and you don't want to distract the viewer too much. Great work.

Thanks for the input Jase. Yes, I would have liked to have added 2x the RGB plus added an L channel....hopefully the weather will clear..

Wabbit nebula!!!!

Oh the memories - still makes me laugh!!

Beautiful image Peter but some L would help restore some juicy fricasseeing plumpness to the stellar profiles.

Cheers, Marcus

You're despicable.

Unlike the photo, which is easy to like. Yes, maybe a little more 'punch' from the stars but that is being picky. Perhaps the sky is a bit red but I'm looking at work on a crumby uncalibrated monitor. I'll have a better idea tonight at home.

Hi Peter!

No doubt about the detail you get from quality equipment. Don't know whether it's my screen but it looks a little dark.

Cheers,

Justin.

Awesome details. Not keen on the color. Too red to my taste. I know it's supposed to look like this but I really like the blues DSLR shots produce on this one, even though it's not correct.

M17 is a real corker in narrowband because the mix of the three channels is pretty well balanced uniformely. You should do it in no time with your light bucket. Easy peasy and plenty of time still.

Fair enough.... After my usual hinderances of weather and absence due work, I'll certainly be looking at NB this season. Duck season that is
