Sydney Bugs

Yet another quickie. HD format to show some detail...

Looks a bit like my windscreen after the drive from Parkes to Sydney

The bug did get a bit of LR de-con, but oversampling gave a pretty good result.

Wow, that's some superb detail there... and with less than 2 hours exposure!

Very nice details and colors in that one. You've got the faint extensions and outer shell blues. Quite a feat from Heathcote. You night have to piggy back this scope on Fred's rig at the AAO and give it a good dose of dark skies. It's getting sunburnt in the burbs.

It's actually quite bright... I had to take some shorter subs to avoid burn-out of the core.

Yep a dark site would be good. But no plans to move the observatory in the short term.... longer term maybe

A fine image as always Peter.

Did you have a guiding malfunction? - I notice a slight bump on all stars at around 11 O'clock or so.

Cheers, Marcus

Keen eyes!

I watched it happen, thinking. What the... ..yes, a cosmic ray right next to the guide centroid made things take a wander for a few seconds on one of the subs.
