First light under Dark skies

Hi folks,

I managed to get out under dark skies under a new moon at a mate's property at Kilmore in country Victoria on the weekend.

After a few issues with persistant clouds and the new dew heater sucking the life out of my battery, and 'scope balance affecting drift alignment in PHd in dec (d'oh), I was able to finally get a series of 10x5min subs & darks of M20 on the SBIG 8300c.

I really wanted 10 min subs but as it was 4.30am by the time I was done, I needed some sleep!

It was nice to get a hitout from somewhere without the suburban light pollution of Melbourne, gee it was cold though!

Your feedback is welcome as always : )

Cheers

Andy

Yeah, ice on this is not unusual for us AC. Worst night I can recall was going out to a car covered in ice at 10 PM.

Great that after the trials and tribs you managed to snag some good data and produce a really nice image.

Thanks for your positive feedback everyone

@Dolbs - So far very happy with the SBIG 8300c - it's easy to use, well made and finished, gives very clean results

Cheers
