First light ASI120MM/PST Solar 19th June

First impressions; I like how it's got a lot of sizes to choose from below it's native resolution of 1280 X 960. I previewed most of them & settled on 1024 X 600 which still gave me 46 FPS @ prime with the little 40mm PST.

6 pane mosaic, but I might have to up it to 8 panes to satisfy the 'even illumination across the FOV' monster in me

Gain: 20
Gamma: 1
Exp: .0026

Not sure what happened to my set of proms The captures got lost somehow

Mind you, I had to clean it a couple of times today. It's about the same situation as my DMK. I have to clean that regularly as well. I don't use any screw on filters on mono cams so it's inevitable & I just see it as part of the whole imaging routine.

I should add I had to take the nosecone off & hold the bugger on the PST with masking tape though - NOT part of the normal imaging routine!

Very much Allan. I specifically like the different resolution options over the Imaging Source cams. I honestly think there's not a lot between the 2 camera's in sensitivity. I see 12 bit over 8 as a reasonably major jump too so all up yep, I'll be buying one ASAP.

Even though I still can't locate my prom set (obviously I did something wrong & they don't exist anymore!) Here's one I captured later at the camera's full resolution @ roughly 23 FPS. 150 stacked from 1600.

EDIT! Dumb Q but where do I purchase one of these cams guys? I want it yesterday of course!

Here is a link to the cameras at their site. Apparently there is a new 120mm coming out soon so may be worth enquiring about it.
Their online site is at the bottom of the link

Hope this helps

Looking good John!

Btw the QHY5L-ll (same sensor as asi120) has a 1.25" body which makes it more flexible for focusing which was the reason I chose it over the asi.

Thought I'd try a DMK21 prom set incorporating the ASI disc set.
