Ngc4945

No Flats on this because my camera slipped in the focuser when I went to another object. I didn't realise until it was too late and then the cloud rolled in. Anyway 11 frames @ 4mins each ISO800 with a Canon 400D and 80mm f450mm Refractor. And a close negative crop of NGC4945.

Hi Andrew!

Quite good resolution your getting from that focal length.
I presume the green tinge is from an LP filter?

Cheers,

Justin.

Yeah Sure is Justin, the LP filter puts a bit of a weird colouring on the image which I havent worked out how to process out. Since I lost my copy of Photoshop when my HDD failed, I have been using GIMP so the workflow is a little different.

I've just purchased an LP filter for work in moon light, haven't had a chance to use it yet. I also have a baader fringe killer that gives this green tinge. I've stopped using it, until I can figure out how to process it out properly.

Cheers,

Justin.

Nice details in there Andrew, good round stars also
Was reading up on LPFilters and most will shift the white ballance out with unmodded Dslr's, I see some red tinges around the edges too, was this in the oridginal file as well or does the oridginal have an even green tinge across all it ? ?
