Looking for Musicians!

Hi folks,

I didn't really see a more appropriate forum on IIS for this request but I am nevertheless hoping it may yield some results.

I am a pianist and I'm looking to find some other classical musicians in the Brisbane area who would be interested to play and perform in some concerts - somewhere - no specific date or venue in mind at present.

Perhaps you're a Violinist, Cellist, Clarinetist or even singer - almost anything really for which there is a good repertoire with the Piano. Ideally I would like to perform some chamber music - Brahms Quintet, Mozart Piano and Wind Quintet etc.

Even if you don't play an instrument, but know someone who does play well I'd be grateful if you can make contact to see if they'd be interested.

Here's an idea - we could perform at Astrofest

You can contact me via this forum or directly at chris@ccox.co.uk

Thanks for reading and I look forward to discovering lots of hitherto unknown (to me) talent amongst the astronomical community.

Chris

Now there's an idea. The Astrofest choir!

In any event I was thinking more of daytime music as I think most people will be busy at night The real problem is that Duckadang doesn't have a decent piano.

Compared to the weight of some of the mounts around now, maybe bringing the grand wouldn't be seen as "out of the ordinary"

Some rationalisation may be required. Perhaps a Steinway mount or a Skywatcher Piano?

You're not still *manually* guiding that piano, are you, Chris? ;-)

Flute, if we're ever in the same vicinity :-)

Likewise, flute. Did the DipAbrsm in 2007 and have hardly played since. Based in Sydney though.

Sometimes, guiding a piano would give better results!

Flute, if we're ever in the same vicinity :-)
Are you in Brisbane?

Alas, Sydney is a little far for rehearsals. Are you planning to be at Astrofest though?

I'm still very keen to hear from musicians. I have been in touch with Lee and Rob, the new managers of Duckadang to investigate how they may be equipped with a piano. if anyone has a half way decent one cluttering up their place it may be ideal

Chris

Piano

I have been in touch with Duckadang about possibly finding a piano for them if they will take care of transportation.

So, I am looking for a reasonably decent piano that may happen to be going free, or for a nominal amount that I could secure for Duckadang. If anyone has one or knows of one available please PM me asap.

Thanks,

Chris
