Valley of Stars

I have long wanted to visit several locations that are very near where I live, but put them off for various locations .... light pollution, the risk of my car being smashed up by a local hoon, etc. Having a trip to Tammin cancelled on Saturday I thought I'd just forget all the concerns and give it a shot.

http://blog.astrophotography.com.au/...-of-stars.html

8 x 180s exposures at 17mm with 17-40mm F/4L on the Canon 7D at 1600ISO. Foreground is a stack of 5 x 30s of the exact same field. Significant processing in Photoshop to try and balance colours, and blend the foreground.

I'm hoping to get back soon, as I have plenty other shots I'd like to get but didn't because I rolled my ankle and lenses dewed up.

Enjoy

Beautiful looking photo Roger.

I like the colour and it has a nice "mood".

Ross.
