A Swan from SPSP 2013

Here's an M17 I'm very happy with. I've been shooting this one year after year and never got a good one. Practice makes perfect. Pretty stoked with that one and the colors and details I got.

80% res is here [4.75MB]
HD (1920px) here [3.41MB]
and a user friendly version here [1.69MB]

Probably not perfect in the eye of the purist but much better than all the salmon slices I got previously.

The thumbnail is a 1:1 crop.
Same rig. APO90mm at prime 600mm FL and QHY8. 10x5min

Thanks for looking.

Good one Marc. It all works well with the nice big field. Maybe crank up the saturation a bit?

Yeh quite nice Marc well done

Thanks a lot Ross. Yeah I'm pretty happy with that one. The field looks good.

That's looking very good Marc, lovely details and colour. Saturation can be pushed a bit more I think, but is a matter of taste of course
I love this relatively overlooked nebula, and am always surprised with how bright it appears in my finderscope compared to say the Eagle.

Thanks Rolf. It sure is much brighter than the Eagle. First time I heard about it I saw it in a Dobs. Then I wanted to image it. It looks beautiful in tricolor narrowband as well. What's fascinating about this one is the clear right angled corner in the dark cloud. Even more in close up shots with massive telescopes.
