Wl 1736/1734/1732

Thought I'd try a bit of 3.8 Baader film on the ED80.

Well unless I use the DSLR I can't get a full disc shot David, so I'm not sure what to do in regard to this annular!

Thanks all.

One problem I did have was the image was way too bright & even with zero gain, 60FPS & a 1/10000 exposure, couldn't solve it so I ended up having to use another layer of the Baader 3.8 in the camera nosecone...What's up with that?

Hi John

I assume you were at prime focus?

I think that at F19.6 my DMK31 settings are around 1/3000 sec, Gain 200. When I fit a Baader Solar Continuum Filter this changes to 1/200 sec, Gain 400.

Cheers

Dennis

Yes Dennis, I should have included that it's probably because I was at prime with the ED80....I'm very much used to using an SCT these days lol.

Just wondering what others do in this situation though, if & when it does need extra filtering...I tried jumping to a 2X barlow but I couldn't seem to find focus..
