Captured through a GSO 10"RC using QSI583wsg with the full moon shining down into the scope. Baffelling works well with this scope but still a huge gradient that flats have no hope of removing. Colour was a wash out so this is as good as it got with 10x15min subs. Gradients removed in PixInsight and processed in PS3.

The resolution here doesn't do it justice - I saw this very image on Allan's large monitor this morning, and the image is BREATH-TAKING! (even for monochrome )
PS: now I have Allan's Lodestar, I plan doing M83 myself tonight too - the darned Orion starshoot sutoguider can't find a good enough guide star near M83, and I have to move the guidescope a LOT before it sees one. Hopefully, the renowned sensitivity of the Lodestar will change all that!

Already got it sorted Allan, thanks. That is one ULTRA sensitive guider! Should be perfect for guiding in those dark environs I like hunting PN's in.
I know now why the Lodestar is so highly regarded.
Just go for it Lewis and enjoy the guider. It will be more sensitive than your other one for sure and thanks for the chat today and a great transaction.

Jase, really appreciate the comments but I'm going to do this puppy for several Nights from a dark site and then add the colour it needs. Now have the scope, software and hardware to do it justice.

Thanks for the comments Lucas. Fifteen minute subs are about my limit here in the suburbs due to planes flights from Brisbane and light pollution. I really need to get to a dark site to do better.
