F1 - Shanghai Qualifying ONE HD 15:30 AEST 13 Apr 2013

Coverage of qualifying will take place on ONE HD this coming Saturday 13 April
starting at 15:30 AEST.

Of course, those living within a 500km radius of Lostock should not be watching it
live as they should be on the green paddocks of the IceInSpace Astrocamp.
So set your recorders! We will see you at Lostock and please come visit myself
and Andrew Murrell as we conduct sky tours with the 18" Obsession.
Andrew will be there Friday night and both myself and Andrew on the Saturday night.

Race coverage is on ONE HD on Sunday starting at 16:30.
So you don't need to race home to see it in time. Take it easy on the way back
from Lostock.

P1 has completed with Rosberg and Hamilton setting the fastest times followed
by Webber, Vettel, Alonso, Button and Massa.

P2 is is just over 1 hour and 15 minutes away.

Weather for Saturday and Sunday in Shanghai is predicted to be partly cloudy.

As for Lostock, the weather there does its own thing so don't second guess
it. Get out there! And if it is cloudy, stick around as it can clear just like that!

Hi Mike,

Hope life is going well on the rural outskirts of Canberra.

We are going to miss your presence at Lostock. I would gather it will be the first
one you have not been too.

But we look forward to catching up with you at Ilford next month.

As for the Turnbull broadband proposal, it is pathetic and with the possible
involvement of Huawei, dangerous for the security and well-being of all Australians.

What has this to do with the F1? Are you looking to pick some sort of a technical fight there Mike?
And recheck your current wireless adapter, it's probably got Huawei printed on it someplace.
Why bring politics into it?

Yesterday was one of F1's darkest days. It was the worst qualifying I've ever seen . If this is how it's going to go for the rest of the year what's the point in watching? The organisers really need to go back and think about their tyre restrictions. The cars didn't come out all bar the last couple of minutes and it was up to the less well off teams to finally get on the track for some action.
This is a little exaggerated but next we'll see them go slow for 60 laps just to have a last lap dash to the line.
I follow the motogp more (though I miss the crazy two strokes ) but I like the f1's as well but yesterday was dead set wrong.
Only good thing was to see ricciardo get 7th. Nice one.

Red Bull have decided to start Mark Webber from the pit lane after stewards deleted
his qualifying time because they were unable to extract the obligatory one-litre of
fuel from the car.

Red Bull therefore opted to remove the car from parc ferme in order to change the
gearbox and revise his setup to give him more straight-line speed.

Yeah agreed Gary well done Ricciardo hopefully a few teams will start to have a decent look at him, either that or he'll be in Marks car when he finally retires. Good race too at the end was glad Hami kept out Vettel, that dirty two bit rat doesn't deserve a podium for the rest of the season I reckon. Lots of things still to be decided though with a few shady drs footage to be looked through. I think one was Kimi so maybe Vettel will still get a look in.

What a finish! Vettel almost had Hamilton...and loved seeing Kimi on the podium again

Lets just hope we continue to see some good racing and close finishes.

Totally agree about the poor quali. They need to enforce a regulation where the teams must complete at least and out and in lap or cars must leave the pit lane and be on track 1-2 minutes into the session.

Great race today with Alonso winning!!!

Great result by Ricciardo and bad luck for Webber. Looking forward to the next race.

Some updates:

Webber received 3 grid spot penalty and Guttierez a 5 grid spot penalty.
