Skytee 2 dual-scope mount (pickup at IISAC)

My new alt-az mount is in transit from the US and therefore my Skytee 2 will soon be surplus to requirements. Assuming the new one gets here before 11 April, I may take the Skytee to IISAC where any prospective buyers can check it out/collect it.

Attached are some photos showing it in single-scope mode with my Intes Micro 7" Mak and in dual-scope mode with my SV110ED and SV80ED.

A better picture of the mount head can be found here:

http://www.firstlightoptics.com/alt-...uth-mount.html

The mount fits on the standard Vixen GP/Skywatcher EQ5 type tripods. Mine is on a Meade LXD75 tripod (not included in the sale).

There are two minor issues with the mount:
  1. The side with the 'top mounted' dovetail (the one with the SV80ED) has a little bit of play in altitude that I haven't been able to tighten up. However, once the scopes are pointed up at the sky it doesn't cause any issues.
  2. The azimuth slow motion knob is slightly bent. The only effect is that it gets a little bit tighter for part of the turn. I found this a non-issue in practice. in fact, I prefer to disengage the clutches and simply push the scopes around.

The mount is very smooth and stable. I have used it with various combinations of 7" Mak, 110mm refractor, 200mm Newtonian and 80mm refractor.

Note that the counterweight shaft can be positioned under the top-mounted dovetail for dual-scope operation or can be attached to the side opposite the main dovetail for single-scope operation.

The items below are included in the sale:

1. Skytee 2 mount with two Vixen-style dovetail clamps
2. Counterweight shaft
3. Bolt to attach mount to tripod

As you can see from the above link these sell for around 275 quid in the UK. Andrews doesn't have a price on their website yet but I expect it to be around $350-$400.

I'm asking $170 ono. Open to trades for some nice manual prime lenses.

Cheers

Morton
