Designs for balancing weights

Hi there,

Not long ago I moved the primary mirror of my telescope back 4 inches to use the full reflecting area. A full scale ray diagram showed that it was required. Up to now I have been using some magnets on the end to balance the tube. What more permanent solutions that are adjustable can I use.

Ideas include:
Magnets
Threaded rod with movable weights
Velcro sand bags
Others?

I plan on making some tube rings and may require rotating the balance weights around the tube. Also needs to adapt for different eyepieces etc.

Would love to see some picture of how others balance their telescopes.

Thanks Matt
