SEQ Stormage, finally ,,

Hi all,

Well, long time waiting for 2013 to produce some of SEQLD's better weather, been few and far between decent Stormage this season But finally, Sunday arvo, 24th Mar, had all the ingredience's to produce some great size cells, This one in particular travelled from the NSW Nth Tablelands into Brizzy and onto the Sunny coast! As it passed by to the west of the Goldy I was on my roof having a go from 4pm to 5:30 !

The 1st two are Panos, with the 10-20 Sigma @ 10mm, frames taken Portrate style.
All other lightning captures taken reflex action handheld !
Hope you enjoy the Squizz ,,

I had the absolute displeasure of having to be in Redbank all day today. Stinking hot day, so a storm was inevitable.

By the time it got here on the Sunshine Coast, it was all fizzled out, with nary a lightning strike to speak of, and just a little rain. Cooled it down just enough though

Nice shots.

Nice shots. That was an amazing storm this evening. The horizontal rain and wind were impressive enough, but so much electrical activity! The sky was lit up like daylight about every 3 seconds at the height of it, or so it seemed. My windows rattled quite a few times from nearby strikes. I figure the supercell went right overhead.

Thanx Lewis, Shame it lossed intensity as it was quite epic through 'Storm Alley' into Briz, It was moving fast which will effect its duration !
Seen some nice photo's from others on the Sth Side Briz when the Front was at its peak ! There is another trough due next weekend, but not with as much Instability ? ? Long way out yet, might improve ? ?

Cheers Derek, The Goldy missed the epic stuff also ! There was a 'Right Mover' go out to sea between Tweed/Byron area, but was travelling to fast to chase! Would have been some consolation to see the Sunset with the main activity ,, Did you grab some photo's ?

A good storm always gets the heart jumping, was lucky to jagg the lightning, but watching & capturing a storm rolling in is so awesome, then the 'outflow' wind hits Ya , yehaaa : )
